But instead of looking for a hiking bag, I needed an everyday bag for work and school. I read some reviews on the Patagonia Refugio and I thought I would give it a try. It's not too big and not too small (28liters), it has a laptop section that I really needed. If you don't put a laptop in the bag, you can put a water bladder where the laptop would go. You can actually put both in the main compartment but I am not sure if you want to put a laptop and water bladder in at the same time. It does has a spot for the bladder hose to come out of the back. It has a strap that goes across your chest and the cool thing with this strap is that it is detachable. Since I am using this for school right now, I don't have a need for the chest strap, really like the idea of being able to remove it if you don't want it. I purchased this Patagonia Refugio because all the pockets looked appealing and seemed great for helping me with organization. This has been partially true, but it's been a mixed experience. For example, in the largest main compartment, there is a laptop compartment on the side closest to your back, and a smaller pocket about half the height on the opposite side. First, almost everyone these days has a laptop that is much smaller than the Refugio compartment, so for me at least, it seemed to waste space. I've been putting my laptop and a bunch of papers in that space. The smaller second non-zippered pocket in the main compartment seemed to be perfect for keeping all my workout clothes together; the only problem was, it's really hard to take them out and put them back because if you put anything else in the main compartment, you have to take those items out in order to easily access the items in... It has everything I was looking for (15" laptop compartment, two water bottle holders, comfy strap, plenty of pockets) and looks awesome! Riding my bike to school with this on my back is no problem.
