Hydration Pack (Sports) I bought a couple of these hydration packs for my children. I got a pink one for my 6 year old daughter, and a red one for my 9 year old son. These packs are the perfect size, holding 50oz/1.5L of water, which is more than enough for most of our outings. They say an adult needs 1L of water per hour, so I would imagine that 1.5L is enough for 2 hours of activity for a child. They fit very well and are just what you need to keep your active kids hydrated. As an owner of one of these myself, I recommend storing the bladders empty in the freezer while not in use to avoid mold growing on the inside. Recommended. I was not keen on the flames, but my son really wanted it with this design. I opted for a smaller pack(50oz) mostly due to his size(he is 4'10").This is perfect really for any kids that would range from about 5-14 years old or for a small framed person. This pack sits squarely centered on his back for his size and provides a little adjustment to expand when he gets taller. This pack has the center cross strap that keeps the side straps in check from slipping off his shoulders. I have owned several Camelbak's with and without the center straps, and I will tell you from my experience, they are essential to keep it from sliding off when very active(cycling, running, etc.). There is nothing more annoying than having to stop and readjust the pack mid exercise. You will find several Camelbaks priced without the center strap that are basically the same price so its more of a personal decision on what your application...
